Sacramento Taekwondo Club, established in 1990, offers instruction in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. As students (6-up) train to increase flexibility, core strength, and cardiovascular fitness, instruction focuses on the value of goal setting, self-discipline, sportsmanship, respect, and a positive attitude. Parents of Taekwondo students note their child's feeling of accomplishment, heightened self-esteem, and success in school work. Beginner students attend class twice per week, and intermediate and advanced students three to four times per week. Students may promote through the belt ranks from white to Black Belt.
This program instructor is 7th degree Black Belt Barbara Brand, a US National Taekwondo Poomsae Team coach, 6 Time US National Poomsae Team member, and 2020 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship gold medalist.
