“Girl-led” is at the heart of Girl Scouting and has been integral to the Girl Scout tradition since its founding in 1912. Girl Scouts knows that as a home school family, you provide a valuable role, and we would love to be a complement that by providing connection, community, and socialization for girls. Because of our shared values and commitment to allowing the student to drive the learning, Girl Scouts is a natural partner for educators in the home-centered education movement.
In Girl Scouts, girls’ social and emotional well-being and leadership development is the center of all programming. Our program pillars are STEM, entrepreneurship, the outdoors, and life skills, allowing each Girl Scout a myriad of ways to explore these skills for her lasting success. Girls learn to tie together the knowledge, attitude, and skills necessary to help them understand and manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, establish positive relationships, and gain a sense of belonging—which we know our students need right now.
Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England can support girls enrolled in homeschooling in a myriad of ways, including outdoor schooling sites, badge work that correlates with curriculum standards, extracurricular enrichment, and service projects -all depending on your child's needs.
