CHESS Field Trips

CHESS is a ministry designed to meet the educational, spiritual, social, and academic needs of homeschooling families in the Central Texas Area.

We are a group of approximately 100 families who have chosen to homeschool our children for a variety of reasons. Our members come from within an approximate 50-mile radius of the Fort Hood Army Installation.

This includes areas such as Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Gatesville, Kempner, Lampasas, and Copperas Cove, and more.

Our membership is culturally diverse, representing the presence of the local and military community. We provide support to each other in the form of educational, recreational, and informational activities.

We strive to provide co-op classes on Fridays for 10 weeks each semester, nature studies weekly, parent's nights once a month, field trips twice a month, parties twice a semester, prom & graduation once a year in addition to other activities.
