Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art. Aikido is non-competitive and fosters discipline, cooperation and self-awareness through partner practice. Along with speeding up the maturation process, children love the dynamic physicality of Aikido. Some see it as heroic tumbling, others as cooperative rough-housing, but either way, it’s dripping with fun. Parents appreciate the community-based learning in a safe and protected environment.
In today’s competitive world, the spirit of cooperation and compassion is nourished in children through Aikido practice. Confidence, self-awareness, balance, coordination, focus, attention and self-control are all traits that Aikido practice fosters.
Classes available for children 6 years and up. Rates are $80/month for ongoing enrollment.
