Cons: price, some beaty music
My kids have loved these, although we have just the first five. Of course, the pizza song is the all-time favorite. I use these as learning time for the little ones when I need to spend more time with the older ones. Some of the songs are more contemporary than what we desire, but we just turn the volume down or skip these songs.
Cons: can be expensive to purchase entire set
I used Signing Time DVDs (all which were available at the time - about 14 titles) for my autistic daughter to learn sign. The instruction is fun and is taught with immersion and step-by-step lessons. The songs are enjoyable and fun and help cement the signs in a child's brain. On the video, the teacher teaches the sign (finger placement and movement), then babies, toddlers, and kids are shown making the signs (so you can see the variations of use). My daughter really tuned into the kids making the signs, as they were her peers.
There are many more titles, and levels, to choose from now. They can get costly to purchase, but your library may have them. I looked at the cost as much more beneficial, and less expensive, than my daughter's speech therapy. She related well to the DVDs and it fit her learning style much better.
There are offline materials you can use, like coloring pages, to help with multi-sensory learning.
