Grammar Galaxy is a secular language arts program for elementary students in grades 1-5. Concepts are presented in an entertaining easy-to-understand story format, with literature, vocabulary, spelling strategies, grammar, composition, and public speaking covered in the stories. Students are then asked to save the galaxy from an evil gremlin by completing activities in a workbook called a “Mission Manual”. There are currently four storybook levels available, each containing 36 lessons and designed to take one academic school year to complete. Storybooks for 6th-8th grade are coming soon. A preschool activity book is also planned. Grammar Galaxy storybooks and Mission manuals can be purchased both digitally and in print. Grammar Galaxy offers a FREE trial lesson at each storybook level.

Cons: reading the stories sometimes can take a long time

grammar galaxy is an interesting spin on the usually dry ways grammar is taught. It is taught storybased, so you will purchase a story book (teacher read), and a separate "mission manual", which will be the workbook the children work in.
You join 3 siblings who are of the royal family in Grammar Galaxy, who constantly need to foil the plans of the Gremlin, the bad guy of the Galaxy. Your kids will be recruited as Guardians of the Galaxy and need to help in assisting the royal kids to set things right again in the galaxy.
It's fun, the stories make the concepts come alive and stick better as they see it applied in real life situations. The first few chapters of nebula (the first level) are a bit dry and boring so we skipped over them fast (mostly about libraries and how to navigate).
I like that the Nebula allows the kids a lot of highlighting options, instead of having to write a lot, which is nice for the younger ones and those that fight writing. It gradually increases the amount of writing as the book progresses, and the option of doing more is available to "advanced guardians only", giving the child a choice. Takes a lot of pressure off the child.
