Editor in Chief is a popular program which, according to publisher’s materials, "improves your child’s grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and attention to detail using a standards-based thinking approach rather than drill and practice. This effective method teaches students to carefully analyze and edit stories that contain errors in writing mechanics and story details." The materials are presented as books, computer software or bundles.

These are great for preparing for tests. When you teach punctuation, grammar and capitalization, you teach it one thing at a time. But on tests they don't say find the missing commas, just find the mistake. So this helps combine all the skills in one way. So it helps them find all mistakes and search for clues. Builds great thinking skills.
