CalcuLadder consists of a sequence of 96 one-page standard arithmetic drills, divided into six one-year wirebound workbooks spanning 16 drills each. The publisher asserts that even though the workbooks are named CalcuLadder 1 through CalcuLadder 6, any workbook may be used as needed at any grade level along with any math curriculum. The drills are timed, and there is a certificate of achievement available for each completed section. The books may be purchased for $21.95 apiece, or three books can be purchased as part of a “Master CD” for $29.95, although the drills must then be printed before they can be used by the student.

Am still using this with both daughters. It is quick simple math drill at its finest. Recording sheet is helpful. Girls enjoy using it and feel good to see their progress when they pass a level. It is best to use it every day for the most progress.
I recommend using the CD format. Printing only what you need saves paper and it is easy to use for multiple children.
I love all of Calculadder's products, not just the math ones. The drills are much more fun that boring "drill & kill" worksheets. As the student goes up in each level, the graphic on the left border "grows". So if it's an ice cream theme, level 1 will have one scoop of ice cream and level 10 will have 10!
I've used both the printed books (Calculadder, Sanctifinder, ReadyWriter) and the PDFs on CD-rom. I prefer the CD-roms by far, as I can print exactly the number of each level my son needs. With the printed books, there may be too many, or too few, for your student's use. Plus with the PDFs, you can just pull up the answer keys on the computer and not have to find your teacher key.
I personally know the publishers and they are a wonderful family with 12 kids!
I am using addition for my 2nd grader this year and she loves it. It is very easy to use--one timed test each day, which just takes a few minutes. My daughter looks forward to it every day (as opposed to dreading flashcards). She is learning her addition facts and gets faster at the timed tests each time she takes them. This is a good alternative to flashcards (if you hate them like I do!) and still teaches the basic math facts, which I think are so important to know well.
