Homeschool hiking/biking annual event
May 23, 2010 - May 29, 2010
The homeschool hiking/biking annual event began in May 2005 as a way to gain recognition for homeschooling as well as getting some exercise, group involvement, and introducing homeschoolers and their families to hiking and biking in the great outdoors!! It is an annual event now and will be held each year the last full week in May all across the United States. We are asking for individuals and groups involved in homeschooling to set up events in their areas. If you would like to set up a group event in your area, please send your name, email address, phone, city and state to me at: homeschoolhikebike@hotmail.com

Oklahoma Homeschooling Co-ops

Home Educators' Resource Organization (HERO) of Oklahoma - Co-ops and Classes
Co-ops offer selected classes for homeschool students, and provide a welcome addition to learning at home for some families. Co-ops are sought for many reasons: they can be a good way to meet same-age (or nearly same-age) homeschoolers; some parents like the freedom of allowing others to assume responsibility for subjects they are uninterested in, or are unable to learn and teach; others like the opportunity to share expensive supplies, such as lab equipment; some activities, such as choir, orchestra, and team sports require a group of children larger than many families can put together.

Moore/Norman
Christian Life School
Christian Life School offers co-op classes on Mondays. Some of the classes that we will offer are: Music and Motion, Storybook Adventures, Science, Math, Geography, Literature, French, Spanish, Oklahoma History, Art and many more. All of our classes will be taught by a hands on method using real life applications.

Owasso area
Heritage Homeschool Co-Op of Owasso
Heritage Homeschool Co-Op is a support group for homeschool families and serves Owasso, Oklahoma and surrounding areas (i.e. - Collinsville, Claremore, Verdigris Valley, Skiatook and Sperry). To become a member of our Co-Op, you must agree to our Christian bylaws, register with our Membership Coordinator and pay yearly dues. We encourage active participation in our Co-Op, so please only join if you are interested in becoming fully committed. Our Co-Op offers field trips, parties, school pictures, fellowship activities, Math Night, holiday parties, monthly support meetings and LNO for moms, family events and special guest speakers.
